Age Suitability
Nuro is a pocket companion for eating-disorder recovery. Because recovery is sensitive and personal, we are deliberate about who can use the app and what safeguards apply to younger users. This page explains our age requirements and how we keep the experience appropriate.
Minimum age
- Under 13: Nuro does not accept accounts from children under 13, except through a participating treatment provider under a verifiable-parental-consent program (if and when offered). If we learn we've collected information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we delete it.
- 13–17: a parent or legal guardian must agree to the Terms as the contracting party, and the teen confirms an age-appropriate assent. Guardian consent is recorded.
- 18 and over: may create and manage their own account.
Safeguards for teens
- Minor accounts default to the highest-privacy settings: no targeted advertising, no geolocation, no data sale, ever.
- We never use children's or teens' data to train AI models.
- A parent or guardian may review the categories of information collected, revoke consent, and direct deletion of the minor's information at any time via pippa.app.general@gmail.com or the in-app deletion flow.
Content suitability
Nuro is a supportive recovery tool. It does not contain advertising, in-app purchases of inappropriate content, gambling, or mature themes. It does discuss eating, body image, mood, and recovery, topics that are inherently sensitive and intended to be used as part of a care plan. Nuro does not display calorie or weight content in ways designed to promote restriction; the app's purpose is to support consistency and connection with a care team, not dieting.
Clinical context
Nuro is most appropriate for people engaged in, or seeking, eating-disorder recovery, often alongside a clinician. Detailed data is shared with a care team only after you (or a consenting guardian) approve it, and that access can be severed at any time.
